After graduating from Lake Forest High School, Sylvia attended Butler University in IN and Jamestown College in ND.  She married Cecil (Steve) and they had two sons, Philip and Thomas.  Sylvia worked as a Payroll Secretary for L.E. Myers, a company that built and maintained power lines.  She loved classical music, and in later years became a fan of country music.  In the summer of 1992, Sylvia suffered a massive stroke, was in a coma for a month and while in the nursing home for rehabilitation, suffered another stroke.  She died in October, 1992.
