CYNTHIA JEAN BURNS"Ceej" Cindi passed unexpectedly at her home in Johnson City, Tennessee to complications of Juvenile Diabetes that she contracted at age eight. Cindi was 31. She was an undergraduate student at East Tennessee State University, in Johnson City. Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Cindi graduated from John I. Leonard High School. She was the daughter of the late Martha Jean Burns of West Palm Beach, and is survived by her father, Thomas L. Burns; her guardians, James and Kathryn Barnette; a sister, Deborah Schrauth; a brother, Bobbie Hinson; and uncle, David Shearer, Sr. Her extended family includes Robyn Barnette. James Barnette, Jr., David Shearer, Jr. Duane Shearer and Thomas G. Burns. Cindy will also be missed by a large number of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday morning at 10 AM at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 1003 Allendale Road, West Palm Beach, with a reception following in the parish hall. Cindy and the entire family were well aware of the need for a cure for Diabetes, therefore it is requested that thoughtful gifts be given to the American Diabetes Society, in lieu of floral decorations.
