Married junior year of high school, went right to work after graduation, worked same job for 8 1/2 years, became asst. mgr., stayed at home to raise children, cleaned houses periodically, divorced, remarried and became a widow with 4 yr. old son, remarried, divorced again and married to current husband 22 years. Had 6 children, took care of daughter who developed brain cancer 6+ yrs. ago, who is now cancer free and doing well, whose husband left her during chemo treatments. Helping to raise my beautiful 8 yr. old granddaughter as they live with us. Started my own nonprofit organization, Straight From The Heart of Florida, Inc. and I travel doing HIV education. ( Would love to travel more to do so).Life is pretty good, have everything I need and enjoy simple things in life with family. I love being outside, making s’mores, crafts with granddaughter, laughing and building my relationship with my God.Hobbies are gardening, going to beach, volunteering at my church, and I love encouraging others.

School Story:

Being married in junior year of high school shocked many and several stated I would never graduate. Not only did I graduate but with Straight A’s getting exempt from all my exams. One morning had overslept and had my husband bring me to school where I was told had to sit out of class entire period and serve detention on top of that. I respectfully voiced my opinion about missing a whole class vs. arriving a few minutes late and that was worse missing all of class than a few minutes. I sat waiting to be reprimanded longer than just going to class a few minutes late. Expressed was not a good message to send to students who made an effort to get to school even after over sleeping. After being told I would also be serving detention, I called my husband who came back to school and let them know I would NOT be serving a detention and that the effort was obviously made to get to school anyway. Needless to say, I was sent to class and no detention was served.
