I never knew Tom but I DO remember the "Dynamic Duo" - Tom at running back/wide receiver and Wayne Peace at quarterback! UNSTOPPABLE!I'm SURE Tom is catching passes from God in Heaven as I type!!!
Rest in Peace, Tom!

Ellis (Tom) Zimmerman was a great friend, and family member. We had some great times together. He made great plays during the footbal games and was fun to be with. We all love and miss him dearly, but God loves him best. Rest in peace my friend. LisaMary Lankford (Brady)
I remember Tom was always nice to me. To this day whenever I see the name Zimmerman I think back to High School and Tom. God Bless dear Sir. You will be forever missed. May your family find peace and believe you are in the arms of our Lord and Savior.Rhonda Woolsey (Picou)
I had Tom in my driver's ed class. As we waited in line in alphabetical order he was always right behind me so we would talk. He was always very kind and jokingly referred to me as his white girlfriend. I know he was a good football player as well but I will always remember how easy he was to talk to and how friendly he was. At the time there was still some tension between the races at LHS and although I wanted to be friendly I wasn't sure how he felt about being friends. Tom seemed to be able to make race a non issue and our friendship was very easy and natural. I am sorry to see that he has passed on.Bennie Ross
I remember Tom well. On the football team we called him Hot D!!K. A year after I graduated from college,I was working as a manager at Churchs Chicken in Hollywood,Fl and Tom just happen to be in town at a club dowm the road. He just happen to stop by. Because he was a Dreadnaught, I gave him what ever he want on the house. That was the last time I saw him. May he rest in peace. I do hope his famliy know that he was loved and will be missed greatly by all of us.
