LAKELAND - Jimmy Mac Gay of Lakeland, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Lakeland on February 20, 2018.
Jimmy was born in Tifton, GA on January 27, 1956. He moved to Lakeland, FL as a child where he attended Kathleen Elementary, middle, and high school. He was a graduate of Kathleen High in 1974. He was a sales manager with Ronnie's carpets for many years. He enjoyed watching his grandson play ball, riding his Harley, watching old westerns, and spending time with family and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Nora (Pendley) Black, Sherrod and Addie (Fletcher) Dubose, parents R.L. and Ruby (Dubose) Gay, brother Jerry Helms, and son Randy Gay. He is survived by his two daughters Brandy (Gay) Schulz and Amy Gay of Lakeland, FL, sisters Shirley Helms of Tifton, GA and Janet (Helms) Rome of Thomasville, GA and one grandson Zachary Schulz of Lakeland, FL.
The family of Jimmy will embrace friends at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL on February 23, 2018 at the hours of 5-7pm. Final resting place will be at Omega Cemetery in Omega, GA.
