Wanda McDaniel Griffis, 56, of Odum, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. The Lakeland, Florida native had lived in the K-Ville Community the past 26 years and was a member of Ritch Baptist Church. She was an Appling County School bus driver for many years and a homemaker who loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Wallace “Bunk” and Erma McDaniel.
Survivors are her husband of 37 years, Mack H. Griffis, Jr. of Odum; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and James Boatright of Odum, Joni and Tohn Herrin of Jesup; a son, Jeffrey Griffis of Moultrie; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Dennis Anderson of Tifton; grandchildren, Jamilee, Emily and Hannah Boatright of Odum, Jake, Jared and Katie Herrin of Jesup; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at Ritch Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Ledbetter and the Rev. Wayne Manning officiating. Interment was in Ritch Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were her nephews.
Visitation was from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church.
