Robert Walmsley Jr. July 2, 1956 - January 5, 2025 Robert "Bob" Walmsley Jr., 68, transitioned into the arms of Jesus on January 5, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida, surrounded by family. Born on July 2, 1956, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Bob lived a life defined
by faith, service, and love. Bob honorably served his country in the United States Navy, embodying the values of dedication and sacrifice throughout his life. After his honorable medical discharge, Bob came back to Florida and spent most of his career working for Publix Supermarkets. He was a devoted husband, father, and "Pops," whocherished time with his family and served as a guiding light to those around him. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Wanda; his children, Rob (Kelley) Walmsley, Lakeland, Florida; Andrea (Nels) Ferre, Bartow, Florida; and Keith (Melissa) Walmsley, Lakeland, Florida. His nine treasured grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother Rusty Walmsley (Toni), Tallahassee, Florida; sister Debbie Smith, Lakeland, Florida; Siblings-in-law Kenny and Judy Clark, Winter Haven, Florida, Ernie and Joan Haynes, Lakeland, Florida and several loving nieces andnephews. A man of deep faith, Bob served as an Elder in his church, where his wisdom, humility, and dedication touched countless lives. Outside of his service to others, Bob found joy in golf, baseball, and spendingquality time with his family. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Bob's spirit will remain with us always. His compassion, wisdom, and love will guide us as we continue to carry forward the lessons he so selflesslyshared.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Highlands Church of Christ in Lakeland FL on January 25, 2025 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests "thank you" donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice at https://www.chaptershealth.org/.../good-shepherd-hospice.../

From Bobby's family: To those that have reached out with texts, calls, messages, and comments, thank you! For those that knew Pops (Bob), you know this is a huge loss and a massive void left in our hearts. The family does invite friends and family to come celebrate the amazing man Pops is. We will have a celebration of life on January 25th at 3:00 at Highlands Church of Christ in Lakeland. The family encourages this who attend to honor Pops by wearing red, white, and/or blue. In lieu of flowers, we are asking that a “thank you” donation be made to Good Shepherd Hospice who did an amazing job caring and loving on Pops and the family. We ask that you continue to lift the family up in prayer as we navigate uncharted territory.
