She was born May 24, 1956 in Lakeland, FL the daughter of Edward M. Whitaker, Sr. and Pauline Prevette.. She was a Chemist with Vass Holdings. Melody is survived by her son Ryan Christopher Whitaker and his wife Jessica and granddaughter Cloe.. Memorial services are Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church, Eaton Park, FL with Rev. Dwight Skeens officiating.
