Because our last names were close, Geoff stood next to me in gym class as we stood on our numbers in our gym clothes for attendance. He punched me every day; I don't know why. He was short, but very strong. He was a good wrestler and could climb the ropes. I was a wimp. Finally, one day, I punched him back, right in the face. I wasn't very strong, and I don't think I hurt much more than his pride. I probably did more damage to myself than to him. But, after that, he never punched me again. I have mixed feelings about that now that I know he's gone. I think he would have been a good friend had we met under different circumstances.
