I just met George's uncle at a concert in Philadelphia and was saddened to learn that he had recently passed away. I didn't know him well but the name rang a bell.
I hear he was quite the environmentalist. Sorry I never got to know him.
I was quite friendly with George in 8th grade at Carl Sandburg JHS. He had a good sense of humor and used to call me "giraffe" because I was rather tall for a girl. I think he also called me "Lurch" (from "The Addams Family) because my hair was kind of Lurch-like.
