Jeff Palmer was my first "boyfriend" in 8th grade. Some of my fondest memories were making out in the dug-out at the Twin Oaks ball fields. Mary Breza's garage was made into a room and we used to sit on bean bag chairs and suck face. (and no we didn't much more than that) lol Unfortunetly, the last memory I have of Jeff was at his very well-attended viewing in Bristol. I wish I could rehash those memories with him now. Rest in Peace Jeff

Hey Kath, was Jeff really your first boyfriend???? LOL I think I remember a few as early as kindergarten.

Anyway, yes Jeff was Kathy's first love and we all made out in my garage. Kathy had Jeff, I had Kenny Whittaker (my first kiss, 8th grade, in front of Sandburg, I remember it well!) and Amy had Harry White. We were quite a crew.

Jeff was always very sweet to me in school and later at class reunions.

Jeff was great and an awesome football player. I remember one day afte practice we were running around in an old station wagon he had. He jumped on it a little too hard and we lost the forward gears in the transmission. We drove all the way home in reverse! I'll never forget it.

JEFF PALMER WAS A BIG TEDDYBEAR. HE COULD MAKE ME LAUGH LIKE CRAZY. NEVER A BORING MOMENT. WE HAD A FRIENDSHIP FOR THREE DECADES. WENT THRU TECH SCHOOL,PROMS,RELATIONSHIPS, EACH OTHERS WEDDINGS,THREW LIFES UPS AND DOWNS. THE THING THAT STICKS OUT THE MOST IS HIS LOVE AND LOYALTY FOR HIS FAMLIY AND FRIENDS.

Jeff, yo cuz, Palmer. We met in the 4th grade. Jeff transferred into our class from somewhere, never knew from where. I was assigned as what I think they call a mentor to Jeff by our teacher. I was bigger than Jeff at the time so I felt really responsible for him.

One of the playgound bullies came up to Jeff and started to push him around. I informed the bully that I was assigned responsibility to show Jeff around the school during his first week and I don't think picking on a new student was what they had in mind. My diplomacy didn't work and put Jeff at greater risk.

The bully hit Jeff right in the face. Without thinking I wound up and clocked the guy right on the side of the head. His eyes rolled back in his head and he fell to the grass. Jeff and I looked at each other in sheer terror and we ran all the way back to our classroom.

Jeff got much bigger than I did in high school and when I was getting bullied, Jeff somehow in his funny, diplomatic manner always interceded until I could slowly drift out of harms reach.

After we graduated, it was always good to see Jeff and he made us all laugh. Even when he was making fun of you it was impossible not to laugh because of his delivery and you know he was going to pick you apart and there was nothing you could do about it.
