Sharon M. Jarvi, 55, of Keweenaw Bay, died unexpectedly, Monday morning, September 19, 2005 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 20, 1950, in Negaunee, MI, a daughter of the late Eino and Martha (Saarinen) Aalto. Sharon was a 1968 graduate of L’Anse High School. On May 10, 1969 she married Robert Jarvi in Assinins.

Sharon worked for 37 years as a financial analyst with Baraga County Memorial Hospital and had recently retired. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, spending time with family, friends and especially her grandson, Brady.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Jarvi of Keweenaw Bay; son, Robert Jarvi, also of Keweenaw Bay; siblings, William (Cathy) Aalto of Marquette, Gerald (Peggy) Aalto of Ishpeming, Jane (Robert) St. Amour of Ishpeming, Betty Rantanen of Ishpeming and Marvin Aalto of Gwinn; sister’s-in-law, Mary (Jim) Ala of Baraga and Jean (Al) Giusti of Chassell; brother-in-law, Fred (Sheila) Jarvi of Algonac, MI; an uncle; 2 aunts; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Judy Mattson officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
