Marcus Woodland

Marcus Woodland

Our classmate and friend Marcus Woodland was taken from us at the young age of 25, back in September of 2006. This son, father, and companion had so much life ahead of him when he met an unfortunate end.  At the time, he was studying to become a mechanic and resided in the Landover area. As a class, lets remember the good times we shared with Marcus.

Well, I can say that I remember meeting Marcus in Kettering. We used to be good associates back in the day. I also went to PG with Marcus and his cousin peanut and can recall the days of when we would just kick it as avaerage young people do.

Marc was a stand up guy who was always willing to help someone out. Speaking of wanting to be a mechanic, he showed me what parts needed to be changed when getting a tune up, so that I wouldn't waste my money if they tried to lie about what work was done. It amazed me because we were only 18 or 19 at the time and I never thought Marc was into that work with him being so quiet. We even went to driving school together and it also amazed me that out of all us students from Largo, he was the only one there learning how to drive stick shift rather than automatic. He said he did it because it was cheaper and if he ever wanted to get his CDL he would have experience with downshifting. We sort of lost contact after we left PG and I was devastated when I heard he was gone. One lesson that I learned from Marc was that you don't have to be loud and attract attention to yourself to accomplish your goals.

The strong, moves quiet!

Rest in Peace, Marc

Omar
