In Memory

Tony Cusimano

This info received from Joe Ramos 5/8/16. Thank you Joe for the tribute to Tony...he will be missed by many.

Tony was my best friend through high school and after. I lived with him and his family the second half of our Junior year when my family moved back to SF. We both received draft notices about the same time in 1965. He wanted me to enlist with him to go to Germany rather than face the threat of going to Vietnam. I refused thinking rather than stay in the Army the three years required for enlistment, it'd be out in two as a draftee. He got out in three, I in 23! He'd had open heart surgery many years ago, and had moved to Grants Pass, OR to be near his sister. I've visited with him a few times over the past ten years at his home, and had planned to visit him in June. However, unbeknownst to me, he was experiencing falling health, and had moved to KY to live with his son. His health continued to fail, and he passed on April 2, 2016. He is interred at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Ft Knox, KY. RIP

Survived By: Son, daughter-in law, grandchildren, sister and brother

Just a short addition to my comments. Tony also had two daughters, and that's 9 grandchildren.

So very sorry to hear of Tony's passing. Tony and I, although not "best buds", I always thought of him as a standup guy who I enjoyed playing football and baseball with as he was a great teammate and good friend. Joey, thank for the update.
