
Agnes Ann Rowland Meves Ann Meves passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 in her home in Novato, California. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 23, 1946 to Herbert Rowland Sr. and Frances Bagley Rowland she spent her first seven years in Japan, where her father, an APL executive was involved in opening the post war Japanese harbors to commercial shipping. In 1953 the family returned to the United States and settled in Larkspur, California. She graduated from Redwood High School and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. After moving to Salt Lake City she trained as an Histology Technician at LDS and Children's Hospitals. She translated those skills into a Histo-Chemist position at the Primate Research Center, University of California at Davis while supporting her husband's completion of degree. Along with her family and close friends she helped found the Pacheco Ranch Winery in Ignacio, California, produced and marketed wine under her own Matrose brand, and developed, hand-crafted soaps in her kitchen for specialty gift shops under the Ann Made Soap label. She enjoyed cooking, photography, her dogs and especially time spent at the family cabin on Henry's Fork of the Snake River in Idaho. Her latest, great enjoyment was her seven month old Grand Niece, Sofia Marie Montell. She is survived by her husband, Jamie Meves, her son Patrick Meves, brothers, Herbert M. Rowland Jr., and Kenneth D. Rowland, niece, Cassandra Rowland Montell, and nephews Bruce Rowland, Chris Rowland, and Herbert M. Rowland III. A private memorial gathering will take place at The Pacheco Ranch, Novato, CA at 12:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 19, 2013.
