Edward (Jeff) Garrison

John was a childhood friend of mine. We were in many classes together at Neil Cummins. He and I would cut school at lunch time a go to Littlemans Market in the Corte Madara shopping center and buy little jars of cocktail onions that we would eat while walking back to school. We helped plan the 8th grade party and George Matthews gave us a day off to take a bus to the San Rafael Coca Cola bottling plant, where we ordered cases of Coke, and drank so many free Cokes we were floating -- it was a big deal then; how innocent we were. . . George Matthews took some of us boys fishing at Phoenix Lake after school, from time to time. John and I would eat the Velveeta cheese and we would run out of bait. He was a good kid and a good grammar school friend. RIP John.
