
Stanton "Kevin" Hargraves. He was a 1988 graduate of Mayfield High School and worked with his father in the family business, Hargraves Drilling & Well Service, for more than 25 years. He attended University Church of Christ where he was baptized in 1991. He recently attended the First Methodist Church in La Mesa. He enjoyed reading, playing the guitar, hunting and traveling. His favorite travel destination was Disneyland in Anaheim, California where he visited several times a year.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Strain Hargraves of La Mesa; his two step-sons, Robert Reed and Louis Reed of Cliff, New Mexico; his four children, daughters, Amber Hargraves and Amanda Hargraves of Las Cruces; Molly Hargraves and his son, Jacob Hargraves both of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; his parents, June Hargraves and Stan Hargraves of Las Cruces. Also surviving are an aunt, Brenda Fresquez; a cousin Belinda Fresquez McNeill both of Muncie, Indiana; and his best friend, Ruben DiMatteo of Las Cruces.
He also is survived by special family friends, Chella Maria Sanchez, of La Mesa; Omar and Hilda Salazar; Humberto and Diana Sifuentes and Sophia Vergara all of La Mesa.
He was preceded in death by both maternal and parental grandparents and close family friend, Luis Salazar.
A private family Celebration of Life service was held October 1, 2014 at Baca's Funeral Chapels 300 E. Boutz Road, in Las Cruces with the Reverend David Harrelson of University Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery
Casket bearers, were Jacob Hargraves, Herman Hernandez, Nestor Hernandez, Humberto Sifuentes, Omar Salazar and Ruben DiMatteo. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Reed and Louis Reed.
