Sholar was a good dude.  Loved his burgundy sports car.  Loved his attitude on life.

The text below was my recollection of Norman, written before the obituary was located.

Norman passed away as a result of stomach cancer. He had served as a grunt infantry soldier in Vietnam where he was subjected to Agent Orange. He also smoked unfiltered Camels. He was a free spirit, the son of a Dentist from Mooresville, NC. His surviving spouse, Pam, devoted her life to Oncology and the saving of others from the ravages of cancer. He loved bridge and all sorts of games. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.  He was employed as an auditor for First Union National Bank in Charlotte, NC for a time but returned to his home, Mooresville, NC, and opened The Sholar Agency, a real estate office.  He drove a burgundy colored Jaguar and was one of the happiest, most fun-loving individuals I have ever known.  He was a suitemate and a roommate and I think of him often. It was through Norman that I met Betsy, whom I married in 1971.
