In Memory

Charles Burlew

Charles "Charlie" Kenyon Burlew, 63 , of Tarboro passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2007 in Kannapolis, NC.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 pm  at Howard Memorial Presbyterian Church in Tarboro on Saturday January 5, 2008.  The family received friends following the service.

Charlie was a retired long-time radio announcer/manager of several radio stations.  He was a member of Howard Memorial Presbyterian Church and was an Eagle Scout and 1967 graduate of St Andrews Presbyterian College.

He was preceded in death by a son, Chip Burlew in 2006.  The death of Chip perplexed and bothered him greatly since there was no apparent reason for Chip's passing.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Tuttle Burlew, a 1966 graduate of St Andrews Presbyterian College, his daughter, Elizabeth Palmer Burlew of Raleigh, a daughter-in-law Christy Burlew, and two grandchildren, Harrison and Samantha Grace of Holly Springs, NC.

Ushers for the service were provided by Boy Scout Troop 49.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
