In Memory

Bill Giese

Carr Wiliam (Bill) Giese

Received word of Bill's passing on Memorial Day. Below is his obituary from The Goldendale Sentinal.

"Bill was the son of Virginia and Oscar Giese. He attended St. Albans School in Washington, DC then graduated from Lawrenceville School in 1965. He attended Boston University from '65 to '67 and graduated from Columbia University in 1971.

Bill was a consummate journalist and early columnist for USA Today before writing his “Lamb Among the Lions” column for Kiplinger’s Personal Finance. His fiery spirit, generously given love, and endless stream of ideas and arguments made him a captivating, charming, and frankly magical individual who inspired both adoration and indignation, often simultaneously.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ingrid Mather; his daughter, Jessie Glenn; and his grandchildren: Zane Lund, Myles Lund, Grace Glenn, Alice Giese, Juniper Glenn, and Indigo Glenn."

From Chris Peake-

"3 friends who lived within a few blocks of each other in Washington, DC entered Lawrenceville at the same time: myself, Bill Corby and Bill Giese. The latter two have now passed on. Seems like just yesterday we were all doing the crazy things young, immature boys do. Bill Giese was best of the the lot."
