Kenneth P. Tinkham, 65, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away April 29, 2013 at a Kansas City, Missouri hospice.
Memorial Services will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father David McEvoy, O.Carm officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home with the Knights Of Columbus conducting a Rosary at 6 pm.
Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Kenny was born February 18, 1948 in Leavenworth, Kansas the son of Wilbert S. and Irene E. (Thayer) Tinkham.
Kenny attended St. Joseph Catholic School, and graduated from Immaculata High School in 1966, he then attended St. Benedicts College in Atchison, Kansas graduating in 1970.
Kenny was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish and St. Joseph Benevolent Society. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #900 and was a 4th Degree Knight.
Kenny worked for the State of Kansas in the Welfare Office in Leavenworth then became a correctional officer with the Kansas State Prison in Lansing, and retired in 2012 from TSA at MCI Airport where he had worked in the security department.
Kenny loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by one sister; Mary Uphaus and her husband Ken, one brother; Dennis Tinkham and his wife Roberta all of Leavenworth, one aunt, Florence Tinkham, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials in his name may be directed to St. Joseph/Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or St. Vincent's Clinic.
