I met Nancy Harmon when my family moved to Lebanon when I was in the 8th grade. We became good friends from the first day of school and that lasted until her death. A group of us often had slumber parties and stayed up most of the night having a good time. We would pile in the back of Mary Harrell's Dad's pick-up truck and ride around for hours.
After high school Mary and Nancy went to college, but they returned the following spring to be in my wedding. In 2003, Nancy and I started talking and e-mailing each other regularly. We were at opposite ends of political parties and the Iraq war, but we agreed stay friends anyway.
Lynn and I went to Lebanon in the fall of 2007 and learned that Nancy had died during surgery and a memorial was scheduled at the Presbyterian Church. We stopped by to pay our respects to Brenda, her sister, her husband and family. What a tragic ending to such a wonderful person.
I miss her now and will really miss her at the reunion!!
