Dan Monson

     Dan E. Monson, 52, Lehi, died Thursday, December 4, 1986, at the American Fork Hospital of a heart attack.

     He was born January 3, 1934, in Lehi to Elmer Richelieu and Edith White Monson.  He was a school bus driver for the Utah State Training School and had worked as a brick mason and worked for Lehi City.

     He is survived by his wife, Joanne; three sons and one daughter: Kelly Dan Monson and Mrs. Thomas (Cindy) Ruckman, both of American Fork; Dale Rex Monson, Provo; Brent L. Monson, Orem; five grandchildren; his mother, Lehi; one brother and three sisters: Tim R. Monson and Mrs. Allen (Marie) Strasburg, both of Lehi; Mrs. Grant (Gloria) Parker, American Fork; and Mrs. Larry (Nancy) Weitzel, California.

     Funeral services were held Monday, December 8, under the direction of Bishop Ronald V. Smith. Glolria Parker played the prelude and postlude music.  The family prayer was given by Bob White. Speakers included Wonoma Hicks, who gave the biographical sketch; Bishop Grant Christofferson; and Bishop Smith.

     Leonard Wing played an organ medley of western songs and Oh Danny Boy. The benediction was given by Bart Christofferson.

     Bishop Smith dedicated the gravesite at the Lehi City Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Kelly Monson, Dale Monson, Tom Ruckman, Clay Calton, Owen Moore and Dick Lewis.
