Sherman Noy Christofferson, 48, died Tuesday, April 5, 1983, in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. Born May 20, 1934, in Lehi, the son of Noy L. and Elma Wootton Christofferson. He married Elva Marie Bryant on June 24, 1960, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Veteran of the Korean conflict. Worked as industrial pipeline valve repairman. He was an active member of the LDS Church and a high priest in the American Fork 21st Ward. He served as a Sunday school teacher and coordinated the temple activity in his ward. He had also served as secretary of the Elders Quorum.
Survived by his wife, American Fork; four sons, two daughters, Shon Alan and Scot James, both of Salt Lake City; Bart Noy and Zane Paul, both of American Fork; Leslie Christofferson, serving an LDS mission in Eduador; and Marie (Molly) Christofferson, American Fork; parents, Lehi; one brother and two sisters, Alan, Lehi; Mrs. Larry (Karen) Hansen, Durham, N.H.; and Connie Christofferson, Salt Lake City.
Funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the American Fork 21st LDS Ward Chapel, 261 N. 900 East, American Fork, with Bishop Donald Fowler conducting. Friends may call at the ward chapel Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
