Dean Asay

    Dean S. Asay passed away Saturday, February 15, 1997 at the V.A. Hospital in Salt Lake City.  He was born September 4, 1933, in Great Falls, Montana, a son of Loan A. and Thelma Simpkins Asay.  He married Anita Louise Taylor October 15, 1956, in Florence, Arizona.

    Dean served in the U.S. Air Force as a munitions maintenance specialist and was a veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam Wars.  He has lived in Layton for the past 15 years.  He worked for the Utah Transit Authority for 19 years.

    Surviving are his wife, Anita, of Layton; three sons, Steven L. Asay and Michael E. Asay, both of Layton; Russell K. (Heather) Asay, Syracuse; two daughters, Helen (Kenneth) Donaghy and Janice (Nicholas) Marchese, all of Clearfield; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

    Graveside services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m. at the Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.  Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 12:45-1:45 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 N. Fairfield Road.  Military honors will be accorded by the DAV and VFW Honor Guard.
