Naomi Bird Rose passed away unexpected on October 8, 2014. She was born November 12, 1943 in Lehi, Utah to Edmund Melwin and Vida Leona Cook Bird. She married Gary Rose on August 3, 1962 in Elko, NV.
Naomi grew up in Lehi and graduated from Lehi High School. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and was always willing to babysit. She enjoyed crafts such as creating handmade greeting cards and sewing. She was an intelligent woman who loved playing puzzles and online word games. She was an avid reader and absolutely loved watching old horror movies. Her love of Christmas was unmatched and she amassed quite a collection of Saint Nicholas figures and Christmas ornaments. Her latest passion was watching cooking programs, reading cookbooks, and trying out new recipes on her husband.
Naomi is survived by her husband and her children, daughters Stephanie Rose, Melissa (Lars) Peterson and Hope (Alex) Watkins, sons Kenny (Erika) Rose and Nick Rose, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother Mike Bird and sister Janet Bird. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Kristin.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2015 at 11 am in the Grove Creek Fourth Ward Chapel, 942 North 500 East, Pleasant Grove with a viewing prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Family and friends may also attend a viewing Tuesday evening from 6 – 8:00 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Interment will be Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
