Kay Leonard Russon, 70, of Provo, died Friday Sept 12, 2014, in the comforts of his home from cancer. He was born Jan 10, 1944 in American Fork, UT, son of Leonard Elmo and Roxie Hansen Russon.
Kay married Lynette Smith on August 26, 1968 in the SLC LDS Temple. He served a mission in the West Mexico area and later with his wife, in a Spanish-English teaching mission in Provo. He served 40 years in the Utah National Guard with the 117th Engineers of Lehi, UT. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served faithfully. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his mother, wife, 10 children (Laura (Lyle) Larsen, Mark Russon, Eric Russon, Elyse (Ryan) Schmidt, Kathryn (Michael) McNeilis, Carrie (Matt) Hellewell, Jill (Michael) Austad, Greg (Annette) Russon, Matt (Erin) Russon, Kevin Russon), 21 grandchildren, two brothers (Merlin Russon, Neil Russon) and one sister (DeAnn Thrasher).
Services will be Wednesday, Sept 17th, 11 am in the Grandview 14th Ward LDS Ward Chapel, 1122 Grand Ave, Provo. A viewing will be from 9-10:30 am at the chapel prior to services.
