Lisa's Memories of West

I want to say that my years at Owens and West Limestone are absolutely some of the best times of my life. I had so much fun there with all of you.

Often I tell some funny story about something we did at school.  I have great memories and I want my kids to have just as much fun in school as I did. But there is no way they will. No way at all.  We got away with so much – sneaking to Christos at lunchtime, chasing each other by riding the book-shelving carts during library science, always getting out so class for some project or another – or to help a teacher.  And speaking of teachers….they just don’t make ‘em like they used to.  Not at West…probably not anywhere.  Robert Bullard – I can see him groovin’ with the band right now. James Kennemer – no teacher would be allowed to throw rocks at the students now. Cynthia Davis – giving us girls the “health talk” in Home Ec.  Anita Raby, Judy Black, Joyce Rose, Margie Evans, Mr. Jackson – both Elmer and Aubrey – both of whom had lots of little “accidents” and “experiments” in their lab/workshop.  Mary Anna Kennemer patiently repeating “j,k,l,semi” 600 times a day….  All while helping us girls know which makeup to use and what colors to wear.  Ernest Campbell – the man with nerves of steel.  Football Games.  Our Terrific band.  Basketball games. Working on our Homecoming Float. Yearbook - poor Bess and Helen K.  Beta Club convention.  Safety Club convention.  Riding around town on the weekends. Our Senior Class play.  Good times. Good memories.  Thanks.
