Burton, Gerald Wayne, 62, husband of Virginia L. Burton, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital. Mr. Burton was born in Lexington and was the son of Juanita B. Sams of Lexington and the late Moss Burton. He was a sales supervisor for F.B. Purnell Sausage Co. in Simpsonville, KY for over 20 years. Besides his wife, he is also survived by: his daughter, Jessica Burton (Roger) Hobbs; and son, Jonathan Curtis (Niki) Burton; two grandchildren, Dakota Hobbs and Jackson Burton all of Lexington; and a brother-in-law, Rick Strunk of Nicholasville. He was preceeded in death by his step-father, L.B. Sams. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road by Elder David Cook with entombment to follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 til 7:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lexington Humane Society, 1600 Frankfort Pike, Lexington, KY. 40504.
