COOK Sarah Sweeney, 59, of Lexington, wife of Willie F. Cook II, went to be with her Lord Sat, Feb 09, 2008 at the Markey Cancer Center. Born in Somerset, she was a daughter of Betty Clark Sweeney and the late William Perkins Sweeney. She was a member of Man O War Church of God and attended Northeast Christian Church. She retired from I.B.M after 29 years of service. Additional survivors include a sister, Louise Sweeney White; a nephew, Cameron Clark White; a stepdaughter, Beth Cook (Steve) Brockman; two stepsons, Joseph Shawn (Shana) Cook and William Craig Cook; and several loving grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-9pm Mon at Kerr Brothers - Harrodsburg Road. Funeral services will be at 2:30pm Tue at the funeral home by Pastor Mitchell Tolle and Rev. Ed Toler. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Gaddis, Mike Jones, Cameron White, David Graves, Dan Harney and Dave Becker. Contributions are suggested to the Markey Cancer Center, 500 South Limestone Street, Lexington KY 40508.

I am going to miss Sarah.
Sarah worked as a typist for the School Superintendand Dr. Pots during her junior and senior years. There i asked Sara if she would go with me to the Junior-Senior Prom my junior year. Her answer was no. She would see me come into Dr. Pots office durring my senior year between my 4th and 5th class periods to pick up the breafcase containing the checks for paying the teachers on the Lafayette campus. - I was the currier and the breafcase was handcuffed to my wrist.
Sara was a member of the Spanish Club and had taped me my senior year to be a member of the spanish club.
I saw Sara again on High Street in 1967 as i came out of the Kentucky Business College. She apologised for not going with me our junior year. She admitted that she actually liked me.
