Bunny died peacefully Thursday, December 14, 2017 at her home in Grayslake, IL. Bunny was born April 28, 1943 in Chicago, IL and grew up in Mundelein, IL where she graduated from Libertyville High School in 1961. As a teenager, she worked at the local Jewel and after high school worked at Abbott Laboratories where she met her husband, Fred while preparing for the annual Abbott Spring Show. Her career took her to William M. Mercer human resources consulting firm where she was a recruiter. This allowed her to proudly put both of her children through college. After retiring, Bunny and Fred enjoyed many winters at their home in Scottsdale, AZ. Bunny is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Fred, their beloved dog Haylee, loving children Greg (Shannon) Swanson, Laura (Doug) Slazes, 2 grandchildren Lauren and Tanner Swanson, 2 sisters Susie (Brian) Kimak, Cathy (Dan) McMullan and several nephews and nieces. Her parents Hank and Helen Menneke precede her in death. Services will be held in the Spring of 2018.
