Clara Lee (Burns) Maland, 79 years old of Spring Grove, IL; formerly Mundelein, IL, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at her home. She was born February 28, 1943 in Baldwyn, MS the daughter of the late Norris Lee and Hattie Clara (nèe Scott) Burns.

Clara is survived by her three daughters, Kellie (Michael Sr.) Schmidt, Wendy Maland, Beckie Scott; her two grandchildren, Cori (Gerad) Gage, Michael Jr. (Caitlyn) Schmidt; her four great-grandchildren, Chance and Knox Gage and Conley and Michael III “Trey” Schmidt; her siblings, Richard Burns, Susan Fitzgerald, Ray (Ann) Burns, Kathy Brown; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Burns and her sister, Nance Sample.

From Sue Melendy Radke: She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Especially George Simonis and Susan Melendy (Radke) who went to Diamond Lake grade school with her since 2nd grade and on to LFHS.
