Classmate David O. Mitchell of Lincoln died Wednesday, March 16, 2022, following a short hospital stay to deal with heart issues. He was allowed to return home and died shortly thereafter. David was a regular at the Guys Dinners at Mulligans and enjoyed the camaraderie. David served in the US Navy as a SeaBee, the Construction Battalion. Following his military service, David returned to Lincoln and for 28 1/2 years he worked for the Lincoln Fire Department. David and his wife, Nancy, who died about 4 years ago, have three children, Mitzi, Tracy and David, Jr. A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Saturday, March 26, at Lincoln Firefighter's Reception Hall, 241 Victory Lane, beginning at 11 AM to 3 PM. Condolences to the family from the LHS Class of '61.

I was sad to hear that David had past away. I have known him since our Whittier Junior High days
and at Lincoln High. I loved his southern accent. He was a great person to be around.

David and his family have been our friends for over 65 years. Thanks for the many memories and all the great barbeque ribs we have shared. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mitchell family on the loss of their father.
