December 2, 1956 - June 1, 2019

David Guy Pickerel of Lincoln passed away June 1, 2019 at the age of 62 from a long battle with brain cancer. David was born to Maurice and Dorlene Pickerel on December 2, 1956. Dave lived in Lincoln for almost his entire life. He displayed his passion, talents and perfectionism during 40+ years working for Springer Custom Woodworking. He brought that same passion to home improvements, traveling and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Kim, twin sons Alex (friend Charissa), Mike (friend Emily), and son Taylor (Karrie). Step-sons Daniel (Kayla), Dillon (Jordan) and Garrett Pfingsten. Brothers Jim (Rhonda), Dan (Renee), and Jeff (Dian). Sisters Nancy Davis, Susan (Wayne) Springer, and Lori (Don) Buettner. Brother-in-law Rick Thomas and Sisters-in-law Patty Thomas and Linda Pickerel. Also cherishing his memory are 4 grandchildren Lily, Talon and Leighton Pickerel and Emmy Pfingsten. Plus Aunt Beth Frantz and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The mother of his children, Cheryl Pickerel and the multitude of friends he made throughout his life. We cannot forget his constant companions, Layla and Casey. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his brother Greg.

A celebration of Dave's life, in lieu of services, will be held on Friday, June 21, at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Christian Church, 1645 North Cotner Blvd. Lincoln. Memorials in Dave's name may be directed towards the family as they decide on additional charities alongside The Humane Society.
