James passed away on December 2 1970, at age 16, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.  He was survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Hejl, brothers David, Thomas, Raymond, John, Frank, and Vincent; sisters Jamie, Lela, Diane, and Julia, all of Lincoln.
