Caldwell - Ivan C., 93, Lincoln, died Saturday (1/26/2002). Born, Swanton (3/5/08) to Robert Earl and Edyth Mae (Ellinger). Graduated, York College, 1928. Attended Northwestern University and the University of Nebraska. Retired vocal music teacher, Lincoln High School. Also taught vocal and/or instrumental music in Ogallala, Dannebrog, Broken Bow, Franklin, Albion and Holdrege. Member, Vine Congregational Church (UCC) where he was the former choir director. Charter member of Band Masters/Nebraska Music Educators Association. Past president, NMEA. Member, A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge 78, Albion, past master; OES Chapter 102, Albion, past patron; Capital City Kiwanis, lifetime member; Scottish Rite Temple, Sesostris Temple; former director of Sesostris Shrine Chanters.
Survivors: son, daughter-in-law, Robert L. "Larry" and Sandie, Lincoln; daughter, son-in-law, Miriam K. "Mimi" and Merle Bauer, Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Chad Caldwell, Longmont, Colo., Carrie Lyon, Omaha; great-grandchildren, Reilly Logan Lyon, Rheece Liam Lyon, Rhett Lorence Lyon, all Omaha; sister, N. Claire Caldwell, Boulder, Colo. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Evelyn (Lawrence).
