I met Rob in 1967, since then we have remained good friends, special in a way that it never seemed we were apart, even if time and distance  had separated us,,, we always picked up as if we never had left off.  Rob gave me unconditional love…and I truly believe that is what made him special,, certainly special for me..

I wanted to share some of our good times and bad times, but couldn’t think of any bad ones so I will mention a couple of good ones or ones that helped cement our bond.

Out all night, the first summer we were 16, I had a car,  so Rob and I decided we needed to be out all night,,, he told his parents he was spending the night at my house and I did the same,,, I’m sure this was his idea….. Now that I think about it this whole scheme was Gary’s ( Rob’s brother) fault,, as he was having a party that we wanted to go to. After going to the party and I think  having a couple of beers we ended up at 3:00 in the morning getting pulled over for speeding down O st… the cops asked us if we were drinking, we acknowledged a couple of beers ,, they gave us a couple of tickets and sent us straight home,, obviously my parents found out,, took my car away, but I never knew if Rob’s found out ,,,,,  now they know…sorry Rob … …

Rob’s first Motorcycle  we all know Motorcycle’s were one of Rob’s many  loves ,,  somewhere around our Jr year Rob was showing his independence and desire to live life the way he wanted to. He told me he wanted to buy a motorcycle , his parents told him no,,, so we pooled our money and he bought it ,of course he didn’t tell them, it was the most beautiful bike I’d ever seen.. as part of the deal Rob told me I could use the bike whenever I wanted,, he didn’t mention I could wreck it but I did,,, would have loved to been there when he explained that one to his parents ,,, oh Guy wrecked my motorcycle ,the one you told me I couldn’t have.

I think we all know another Love Rob had was for the outdoors,, he loved to hunt, fish ,,,,I know he had many hunting partners, you guys know who you are ,, thanks for sharing Robs passion with him,,, he loved ya for that.

another love that Rob had that only some us knew about was his love for kidds,,, Rob didn’t have any of his own,, but when my kids were little and Rob was around them I could see the twinkle in his eye,  the kindness, and gentleness that was in him,,he would have made a great dad, if he had choosen to,, one of his good hunting partners , my brother Roby,, asked Rob to be his first sons godfather,,,, Mark told me how Rob would always find himself downstairs with the kids at family gatherings…

Another Love Rob had is bessed summed up by a song from Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias,,,” to all the girls I’ve loved before”,,,,  you know who you are,,, thanks for sharing Rob’s love…..

I think the best tribute to Rob is summed up in the many Face book posts,,, I wanted to read a few of them, I wont read the names,,, you know who you are ,, thanks for sharing Rob’s love…

I only knew Rob as a fellow classmate.  I just wanted to say that that was a well written and heartfelt tribute that Guy Peters wrote about Rob.  I know you must of both been a blessing to each other.     Sheryle Wheatley

I went to Brownell and Mickle as well as LNE with Rob and he was always a nice guy! I was surprised to learn of his passing may he be resting in peace. The world is a poorer place without him.

Guy Peters,

That was beautifully written.    It brought tears to my eyes.     I knew Rob from Brownell and LNE.  Rob was called home by our heavenly father a few months after my Dad was called home.  He may not be with you here on earth but in spirit, your best friend will be beside you everyday, watching out for you.
