William Allen
William Allen was born November 23, 1949 in Little Rock Arkansas to Zacthes and William Allen, He was preceded in death by his previous wives; Florence Allen and Francine Allen; his father; Zatches Allen Sr., his sister Brenda Faye Allen and his grandson; Damarrian Johnson.
He graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1967. He was very interested in woodworking and leather crafts. William worked for Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 Years retiring in 2002 due to illness
William was a member of Trinity Lodge, J.L.H. Smith Consistory#76, Mohammed Temple #34 and various other lodges.
He joined First Baptist Church Highland Park in 1962 where he served as a faithful member. William was President of the Usher Board, Steward and integral part of the culinary committee where he cooked breakfast for the Brotherhood each month. He prepared a meal each Wednesday night prior to Bible study and he always cooked for the church picnic. He was Treasurer for the Union District Ushers Association and prepared the annual banquet for the Union District Officers. He was a faithful member and regular attendee at the Council of Christian Education Meeting. He was always a part of all youth activities and the youth held a special place in his heart.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he loved fishing and hunting. He also was an avid gardener. His family called him to fix everything from leaky faucets to their cars. There was nothing you would ask him to do that he would not do for you.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirlean; two sons, Rickie Allen (Toni) of Alexander, Arkansas and Stacey Lee (Lisa) Allen of Little Rock, Arkansas; four daughters, Nina Bell, Brenda Faye Allen, Nyiesha Artis of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Bianca Allen of Dallas Texas, three brothers; ; Zatches (Christine), Harold and Wallace (Debra), two sisters; Wanda Jones (Leon) and Shawnece Norwood (Ronnie all of Little Rock Arkansas; twenty grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
