Overdia “Butch” Shelton Jr. was born July 26, 1948 to Overdia and Ladie Simmons Shelton in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He departed this life July 23, 1996 at 2:01 A.M. at New Baptist Hospital.

He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Collins Street Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. N. Nichols.

Overdia was united in holy matrimony to Marzell Coley on November 1, 1970 and from this union, two children were born.

He was employed with Georgia Pacific for twenty years where he was a production foreman.

Overdia loved fishing, bowling, playing dominos and other sports.

Warm and loving memories of him will be cherished by; his devoted wife, Marzell Coley Shelton; three children, Vernora Marie, Tiffany Maggie Elizabeth and Anthony Shelton all of Little Rock; parents, Overdia Sr. and Ladie Simmons Shelton; his father-in-law, Louis Coley Sr. of Little Rock; four brothers, Eugene Shelton (Deborah), Howard Ray Shelton (Rebecca) and Issac Milton Shelton all, of Little Rock and Rev. George Jennings Shelton ( Aquanetta) of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Lois Marie Walker (Charles) of San LeAndro, California, Patricia Ann Smith (Freddie) of  Fairchild , California and Erma Jean Colding (Ronald) of Little Rock; a step-sister, Delores Williams of Los Angeles, California and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
