I remember Dante, she lived next door to me for a number of years in Junior High School when we went to Cloverdale before coming to McClellan, always had a smile and was a sweet heart!

I knew Dante all her life. She has been greatly missed but has left a legacy. She has a namesake niece who will graduate college next year. It is amazing how one life cut so short can still be touching lives today.

Dante was such a beautiful person inside and out. I will never forget her big heart and warm smile and how sweet she was to everyone. I have thought about her several times over the years as it was so hard to believe that her life was cut so short. I know she is in Heaven now and we will see her again one day. I remember how close she was to her sisters...such a special person and a special family. Many of us attended her funeral and it's one you can never forget. Dante definitely made a positive difference on this earth and I'm thankful to have known her.

Dante was a dear, sweet, absolutely beautiful girl and I am thankful for the many years we spent as friends. No one could make me laugh like she could! She spent a lot of time at my house as we were growing up and she was close to my parents and family. We shared so many great times together! Kim Yazza, Vicki Winchell, Tricia Gibson, myself, Dante, Dana Pounders (Class of '81) did a lot of running around during the summers and school years since we all lived literally within a few blocks of each other . Kim Yazza and I had both seen Dante the night before she died. We were always trading jeans, shoes, belts, jewelry or something to wear! All three of Dante's sisters, Debbie, Dana and Denise were pregnant at the time of Dante's passing. Dana was expecting a boy, but gave birth to a little girl, Dante Kellerman almost a month later. She asked and was given the blessing by her family to name this baby girl "Dante." Now, younger Dante is set to graduate college in May 2009 with an Accounting Degree and is planning to continue her education with a law degree. Wow! What a legacy! Denise gave birth two months after Dante passed to a little boy, Jeff Mack, who is now in Medical School in the Bahamas. Unfortunately, Debbie, who had raised Dante, and was like a Mother to her, gave premature birth to her baby girl not long after Dante's death. They had a funeral for the baby . . .her name was Amy Garrett. How tragic it was to have had two funerals during this period of time. Dante's family remains extremely close-knit – truly a remarkable group of people moving forward with life and love. I have continued my friendship with Dante's family and recall afternoons of October 5 (anniversary date of her passing) sitting on the bench at the foot of her grave engraved "DANTE" , talking to her, praying together and remembering all the wonderful times and gifts she brought to each of our lives. I will love and miss her forever.  When I'm in Little Rock, I still find myself driving out to the Cematery to visit her gravesite.  I think of her all the time and still dream of her and some of the wonderful times we shared! She was truly a beautiful person . . . inside and out! Rest in Peace, my dear friend. You will be in my heart forever. Written with Much Love, Amy Mitchell Hargrove

My co-workers tease me unmercifully about my poor typing skills. I have a very good reason for typing poorly. Her name is Dante!

We sat in the very back of typing class and wrote notes back and forth daily. I'm pretty sure neither of us typed more than 40 words a minute (which includes errors).

I kept some of those notes. I have one in a jewelry drawer to this day. It has our names written all over it along with Mark's and Steve's!

I miss her.

Yeah she was a sweet heart of a person who always spoke to me and anybody no matter what your race was. Also she was very cute and small little girl. I was very sadden hearing the news she was killed in an car accident. May she continue to rest in peace.
