Robert Deckard

June 17,1968- February 25,2016

Robert William Deckard was born June 17, 1968 to Bill and Kathyrn Deckard in Heber Springs. Robert entered into what he described as a beautiful and gorgeous heaven on the evening of February 25. He graduated from McClellan High School in 1985. Rob stayed and worked in Little Rock until his mother's death in the spring of 1993. He then moved to a family home place in Drasco with his father later in 1993. He worked as an insurance agent with his father, Bill, at Deckard and Deckard Insurance Agency in Heber Springs.

Robert inherited his mother, Kathyrn's, musical aptitude with the drums being his favorite instrument. He also enjoyed collecting items of his interest. Rob had an extensive DVD/CD collection as well as a model car collection that reflected his love of drag racing. His most cherished possession was a 1987.5 Buick Grand National.

Playing golf was his favorite outdoor activity. He played many rounds of golf and tournaments with his father, Bill, winning several of them. Rob enjoyed playing billiards and hanging out with his close friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Kathyrn; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Lola Deckard of Drasco; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Elizabeth Massey of Heber Springs.

Robert is survived by his father, Bill; a special love, Regina Rhoades of Little Rock; and his aunt and uncle, Ruthell and Earl Southerland of Drasco. He also left behind several cousins and close friends whom he trust will join him in Heaven.

A graveside Funeral Service was held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens by Rev. Benny Foster. Pallbearers were Greg Capps, Lane Riddle, Mark Stine, Jake Clowers, Dewayne Ezell and Ronnie Brooks.
