OK! I have finally posted photos of me and all my victims! These are very tame. Somehow~Someway I actually displaced my camera during the "Night to Remember" at Mid-Town. Damn! Those photos would have been extremely entertaining. There were Rock Stars, Dancing Mohawks and LOTS, LOTS more. Sorry.

Just a Note: Anyone at all interested in meeting up at the Arkansas Derby in April 2009 ~ Please let me or Vicki Castera-McSwain know. Maybe we could get a group together for some Ponies, Beer, German Food and a little disorganized Polka dancing. And YES there will be pictures. I can be reached via the link on my Classmate Profile.

Hey Janet ~ yes hun. You may have missed the earlier posts.

Scott and I are trying to compile a picture dvd of the reunion and it will take 4 to 6 weeks to make.

Unfortunately no one is sending us their pictures to add to the dvd so I can't very well say when it may be complete. All I can say at this point is keep checking the website for announcements and hopefully we will start receiving pics for everyone to enjoy!

Thanks for asking I am sure there are others who are wondering as well.

Hope everyone is doing well and stay tuned for news about an informal class of 88' association specifically for the MHS Class of 88'! We will have fundraising to support the website, get togethers (like the ones the ladies are doing), advertising, and maybe even pre-pay for our next reunion!!

As always we will need you all to help us organize the association as well as decide whether you want a board or how you want to handle the "business" side of things!

Anyone remember the yahoo group?

Hi all,

I would like to propose that we have a chat on yahoo messenger for ALL to start talking about an informal Class of 88' association. I will be happy to be the go between for those that don't have yahoo messenger but still want to be involved.

Since we are spread out across the country, those of us on EST may have to be up a little later than some but we can plan accordingly.

How about Saturday, July 12th? 1 at 3PM EST and 1 at 9PM EST?

Trey Clark how about some of the alumni getting together and going to see our favorite high school football team play a game? they desperately need our help. mcclellan went 0 and 10 last season. tanya and i try and attend at least one home game a year and would love for some of you to join us. let us know.

weeeeeeeeeeee. MHS Class of 1983 now has a website too! Congrats to them and I hope every MHS class follows suit.

I am gearing up to start a fund raiser for our informal association that will run through the end of the month. Stay tuned for more announcements and start finding all those missing classmates and getting them to fill out their profile.

Hey Guys:

I am a dad, Linda delivered Trace Hunter Traylor 8lbs 4oz
20 inches long. He was born 7-7-08. He has blonde hair with big hands and feet, and a big weiner if I do say so myself. He is soooooo cool I can barely contain my joy!

Linda is doing better, ended up having to have a C-section, after 24hr of labor. She is my hero!

Enjoyed the Reunion, I put a few pic in my profile.

I’ll never forget the look in my patients’ eyes when I had to tell them they had to go home with the drains, new exercises and no breast. I remember begging the doctors to keep these women in the hospital longer, only to hear that they would, but their hands were tied by the insurance companies. So there I sat with my patients, giving them the instructions they needed to take care of themselves, knowing full well they didn’t grasp half of what I was saying, because the glazed, hopeless, frightened look spoke louder than the quiet ’Thank You’ they muttered.

A mastectomy is when a woman’s breast is removed in order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue. If you know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards. Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let’s give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.

It takes 2 seconds to do this and is very important. Please take the time and do it! Please send this to everyone in your address book. If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times.

If you’re receiving this, it’s because I think you will take the 30 seconds to vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same.. There’s a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It’s about eliminating the ’drive-through’ mastectomy where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.

Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show support. Last year over half the House signed on. PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. You need not give more than your name, state, and zip code.

jen,
being a daughter in law of a survivor, and working with someone currently undergoing treatment, i can appreciate this bill. everyone should take a moment to sign on and sign up. imagine if it were your mother, daughter, sister, aunt or grandmother. there is also a medicare bill going before congress to pay doctors more for the care they provide. hopefully, this will pass and patients won't have to end up paying what medicare won't cover. hope everyone has a great day.
