Cynthia Jean Miller, age 69, of Sherwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Cindy was born on July, 25, 1952 in Roswell, New Mexico, to James and Carol Stephens. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Brian Miller. Cindy is survived by her husband, Rick Miller, of Sherwood, and their son, Matt Miller, of Portland, Oregon.

Cindy attended Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood, Arkansas and graduated from North Little Rock High School. She went on to attended college at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Cindy being very creative and talented worked making cakes for Baskin Robbins, and taught cake decorating classes at Michaels in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She made wedding cakes from her home for many friends and family. Cindy was an animal lover, gardener, loved the outdoors and fishing. Her most precious accomplishments were raising her two boys, taking care of her husband Rick, and the many animals she loved over the years.

She volunteered at Sherwood Elementary School in many capacities. One of which was Health Room Volunteer, where she was the most popular with the children. It is rumored the kids would jump for joy when they knew Ms. Cindy was on duty! Cindy served in the PTA, holding almost all offices, including President. She was active in many women’s groups in the city of Sherwood, including WIGS (­Women’s Improvement Group of Sherwood). Cindy also served as President of the Governor’s
Council for Youth Suicide Prevention. Her accolades and awards were many, but her favorite would have been FRIEND. She was a genuine friend, the kind that left footprints on your heart.

Cindy was the picture of politeness and never met a stranger. She was loved and cherished by many.

Cindy and Rick were together for 53 years. Married for 48 years, and five years of dating. She and Rick owned and operated Little Rock Glass for several years before they sold the business and retired. They spent their retirement enjoying their animals and fishing and gardening at the White River.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107 Sherwood, Arkansas) with memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.

Masks required.

The family would like to offer special recognition and appreciation to Molly Powers, CHI St. Vincent Hospital Little Rock, Arkansas, for her compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Sherwood Animal Shelter would be appreciated.
