David had developed a degenerative disease (I'm not sure of his specific diagnosis) that caused him to have to leave his job as a mechanic. His illness progressed and he required increasing assistance with his personal and medical needs. When he passed away on March 19th, 2010, he was in Hospice.

George “David” Bishop, 48 of Little Rock, passed away March 19, 2010 at Arkansas Hospice Center. He was born December 9, 1961 in Little Rock; he was the son of George Hardy Bishop and Eula Charlene England Bishop. David was a mechanic who loved his job, and listening to Jimmy Buffett, he was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother Eula Charlene Bishop and his brother Denny Bishop both of Little Rock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Little Rock. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery, under the direction of Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock.
