Traci Ann Pinkerton passed away on June 14, 2003 after a long illness of kidney failure. She was 31 years old. Her illness began in her 10th grade year at Mills. Traci went on to achieve a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and Psychology from UALR. Even through her many illnesses and two transplants, Traci graduated from the Baptist School of Nursing and recieved her LPN after being in a coma for three months. Traci became a dialysis nurse at AR Renal Systems. Her goal in life was to be there and to comfort those with her knowledge of the same illness that she had been suffering from for so many years.

Traci was my BFF as we always wrote in our many notes that we passed during our years at Wakefield Elementary, Fuller and Mills. No one will ever be able to replace the true friendship that we shared. I miss her dearly but I know that she is in a better place and no longer has to suffer through anymore pain and sickness.

I remember one winter year Traci, Kathy Powell, and two other girls (I forget who was with us) went walking to the 7-11. It was SO cold! It had snowed and sleeted on top of the snow. We got to the apartments off of Lancaster near the 7-11 and started sliding down the hills on our butts. We were wet and cold, laughing so hard at each other...just being silly. It was so late when we got back, not sure of the time. I will never forget Tracy and I were laughing so hard at Kathy Powell that we were buckled over crying. My stomach hurt the next day over all of that. I remember when she got that car when she was 14!! I forget what kind it was, but I remember being SO jealous! Then a few years before she passed away I went to a makeover party she was giving/hosting. She gave me a makeover and was still the same person I remembered from jr high...she never changed. I will never forget Tracy. {{sniff}}

I knew Traci from 1st grade on. She was always very nice and has a very good family. Her parents had a little cafe with the best fish. My wife and I had out wedding rehersal party there. I remember my sister Tiffany got her first ticket at with Traci because she was riding her on Tracis moped without a helmet. In first grade at Christmas she and I exchanged gifts and she got me an evil knievel motorcyle. She was great and is missed.

Tracy was always such a sweet girl....from Wakefield on....we were in class together many of our years in school....I remembered when she had been diagnosed....I'm so glad that she was able to get her nursing degree....it is strange to think of her not being with us. I remember her most from Wakefield.....her smile and laugh.....Well, God needed someone special......so He had her to come and help Him....

I remembered her moped after I sent my comment. Had to comment with Shannon on her moped though cause I was SO jealous of her "elite" moped! HaHa! I had a yamaha (yellow one) and wanted one JUST LIKE hers! Her moped went a lot faster...We tore up the streets of Wakefield on those things though! We made sure our parents got their moneys worth out of them! Fun times, fun times...oh the memories...I miss Tracy...
