Patti Caver (Jacuzzi)

Patti Caver (Jacuzzi)

Patricia “Patti” Caver Jacuzzi, 72, died April 3, 2020, from complications caused by COVID-19. She was born May 23, 1947, in Little Rock, Ark., to Betty and Gilbert Caver.

In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by her beloved son Clay Colford.

After graduating from Mount St. Mary Academy, she attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Patti began her career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she worked for a number of years. She worked with Jim Carroll at First Commercial and then at his firm, Rosen & Carroll, as a loan officer. Her banking career ended at Pulaski Bank. For the last few years, Patti worked for Park Hill Collection.

Patti’s special flair was in the decorative arts. She was a talented watercolorist and enjoyed donating pieces of art for silent auctions, such as the Easterseals Arkansas Art & Soul event. She was noted for the family gatherings and parties she hosted, where she designed and created the floral arrangements and table decorations that made the day special for those involved. As an enthusiastic gardener and lover of the arts, she was active in the Saline County Master Gardeners program and enjoyed volunteering as an usher for the Arkansas Repertory Theatre.

Patti was a loving, doting and generous friend, sister, mother and grandmother, who went out of her way to provide comfort to those who needed it. Her sense of humor was matched by that of her son, Casey, and the two loved to make each other laugh. Some of her greatest joys included crafting with her grandchildren, taking them on trips and making their holidays extra special. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Jacuzzi of Bryant; son Casey Caver Jacuzzi and wife Jillian of Benton; stepson Richard Jacuzzi, Jr. and wife Alisha of Alexander; sister Rita Caver of Fayetteville; brother Gilbert G. Caver of Little Rock; grandchildren Isabella, Grant, Clay and Hattie; and many other family members and friends.

A celebration of Patti’s life will be held when it is possible. The family would like to thank the UAMS ICU doctors, nurse and staff for their unwavering care. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice, a local botanical garden, or to one of the many small businesses suffering through this crisis.

Death is not the extinguishing of light.  It is putting out the candle because the dawn has arrived. Sending love and prayers.

So very sad to lose a member of our graduating class. Patti treated everyone equally. Never heard her say a bad thing about anyone. Loved Mt St Mary's and was involved in many groups. She is in God's arms. And was greeted by her family in heaven.

Patti and I were the best of friends back in 1st and 2nd grade when she was Patty Caver and I was Kaye Ostie.  We rode bikes together, played dolls, took the same dance classes at the Boys Club, and learned to swim at the YWCA.  Sometimes  we would explore the woods at the end of my block, or play in the ditch beside her house looking for crawdads while trying not to get our shoes wet.  We had great fun a few times climbiing on the rear bumper on her parents' new car letting the tortion-air give us a lift up  .Playtime was never dull!  I am blessed with rich memories of a kind and caring Patti and wish to express my condolences to her entire family.

All of my memories of Patti are fond ones. Here's one story I doubt you know. Way back when, Patti worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone. I think she had a small part in my joining the Company. In May, 1970, I was looking for a management job and the Company flew me to St. Louis to interview with the man who could hire me. He and I met for a while late that morning and then he invited me to lunch. We crossed the lobby of the iconic headquarters building at 1010 Pine headed for the revolving doors. At that moment Patti was coming in through the doors. She yelled, "Mike Edelmann!" and we gave each other a huge hug right there in the lobby. I introduced her to the man I was visiting and told her I was there for a job interview. She told him I was a good one. After lunch he hired me. Patti, we all miss you, and I will never forget that moment.

So sad.  This really makes this horrible disease hit home. Patti was always a star.

I first met Patti in grade school at Good Counsel.  Even then, she was fun to be around.  One day at recess in 2nd or 3rd grade, the girls were playing some 'pretend' game, and Patti chose me to be her sister.  I still remember how special that made me feel.  And I have no doubt that Patti continued to make each person in her life feel special.

Patti and I became friends in 6th grade at Holy Souls and fortunately we maintained our friendship through the years.  Her job brought her to Dallas for market and we connected often times discussing the "old days".  We caught up on everyone and whatever was going on in our lives at the time.  Fun times and great memories of Caver and her family!

This sadness makes my heart heavy.  It is wonderful to hear others' memories of Patti.  I have been thinking how I sit around and also dance at reunions and don't visit classmates as much as I could.  I recall Patti coming around for a chat during our most recent reunion - a special memory at this time and a lesson for the future.  These moments are ways she lives on.

He I'm just crushed by the sad news of Patti Jacuzzi's death. Our friendship started in high school with a few fun dates. Patti was full of life and humor, as well as kindness and generosity of spirit. She will be missed not only by her family, but by our whole community. My prayers go out to Richard, Casey, Gil, Rita and all of those who loved her.

I love MIke's story about Patti helping him get a job. She had a positive impact on many!!  It is a good reminder that we never know the influence people have on our lives. I think of that when I distribute communion...the Body of Christ is in the Body and/or the Blood and also the person receiving. I always try to make eye contact with each recipient.  It is funny how the Class of '65 has remained a community
