With great sorrow, yet abiding peace we announce that Laurie Ann Fritz was taken home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, she is now at peace. She finally has a healthy body and is rejoicing in her new heavenly home!She was born January 5, 1964 in Oklahoma City, but moved to Texas at 18 months of age. In middle school, she participated in cheerleading and played the French horn in the Lewisville Middle School Marching Band. After moving to Arkansas in the 8th grade, she graduated in 1982 from Parkview High School in Little Rock. From there she attended the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated with a degree in computer science. After a brief employment at Nortel in Dallas, she married Randy Fritz and shortly became the full time mother of two daughters and a part time assistant for the family business. She took great pleasure in helping other people, including helping her parents get settled into a retirement community in Dallas before taking a trip to New York City with Randy and the girls; then to Washington, DC and back to New York City for one more round of shows, Central Park, and fun places to eat. Laurie was also thrilled to be able to see her Texas Rangers beat the New York Yankees and to attend two World Series games!! Even when she was sick, she didn’t miss a game on television. Laurie had three great passions: her family and friends, her dogs, and photography (especially of the girls and other people).After overcoming one battle with breast cancer and bravely persevering through her second battle when she found out the cancer had recurred in her bones in August 2011, she set an amazing example of strength and courage for everyone around her. Her will and determination to fight until the very end will always be an inspiration to those that knew her, and her sincere, kind and loving spirit will be dearly missed.Laurie Ann is survived by Randy, her husband of 24 years; daughters Stephanie and Julianna; parents Margaret and William Bogle; brothers Mike and Mark and Mark’s wife, Laurie Anne (the sister she never had, yet shared a name with, ironically enough); two nieces (Kristi Bogle-Sherman and Courtney Harmon), two nephews (Matthew and Ryan Bogle), one great-niece (Chloe Harmon), and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.A memorial service celebrating Laurie’s life will be held on November 3rd at 10:30am in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson, 503 North Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas.
