Novelen, Renee Firmin, born May 3, 1961, passed away June 16, 2010. She is survived by husband Mark Novelen, parents Peter and Jean Firmin, brothers Bill (Gail) Firmin, David (Tracy) Firmin, Peter Firmin, Michael (Katrina) Firmin, sisters Th r se Firmin, Kathryn Firmin-Sellers (Pat Sellers), Sandra (Jack Quinan) Firmin, husband's siblings Bruce (Patricia) Novelen, Jeff (Terry) Novelen, Lynne Novelen and 17 nieces and nephews. Renee attended Gonzaga University and the University of Denver. She graduated from the University of Denver in 1983, earning a BA degree with a double major in Psychology and Religious Studies. In 1995, Renee graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry with a BS in Dental Hygiene. She devoted her life and career to caring for those around her in ways both large and small. During recent trips to Uganda and Myanmar, Ren e provided dental care to those without ready access. Closer to home, she spent much of her time helping others, volunteering with an array of charitable organizations, and, with her husband, caring for their family of dogs, cats, and horses. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 23 at Valley View Christian Church, 11004 Wildfield Ln, Littleton 80125. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sudanese American Orphaned Rehabilitation Organization (SAORO), 6653 W.
