Cindy was one of those special young ladies who were just too good for this world.  I'm grateful for the opportunity to have known her.  She was not only the product of a loving family, she was blessed to mother four fine respectable young men.  She was a person who possessed a charitable love that she easily expressed through either her deep laugh and giggles, or from the gleaming light emanating from her big brown eyes.  Cindy knew how to make you feel special.

My first recollection of Cindy was back in 6th grade at Fifth Street Elementary.  I always noticed her taking walks out on the grass field with her friends during recess and lunch breaks.  Somehow, as I came to understand later, she always enjoyed a good walk.

Later, during 7th grade at East Ave. Junior High, I - along with just about every boy in school - really began taking notice of Cindy.  Of course, the tell-tale sign was during school dances when every boy, who wasn't shy about approaching a girl, would be standing in line just waiting to catch her for a slow song.  I think even the very shy and physically challenged boys would be dreaming about the chance to dance with Cindy.  I know I always was.  Yet, as luck (or dream fullfilled) would have it, she invariably always saved a slow one for me.  And it was always special when it was the last one of the evening.  Yes, Cindy knew how to make you feel special.

As it turned out, near the end of our 8th grade year, we just happened to be "dating".  I actually thought we would be together for a very long time.  Alas, it obviously didn't turn out that way.

I'll forever have fond memories of the pretty girl with long brown hair and big brown eyes who always seemed to attract attention whenever she laughed and giggled. She sure loved to laugh and giggle... and make you feel special.

Oh My Gosh,  I haven't ever been on this site, and I just wrote about Karen Barret, and now I read about Cindy Authier.  The last time I remember seeing her was in our senior year of high school and it was her baby shower  On our graduation, she was so big under her graduation gown.  What a beautiful girl,  I bet she was such an amazing mom.  My prayers are with her sons,  and I know that they knew what a special person she was.
