Robert Gold Obituary
Robert Francis Gold , prominent attorney, and founder of Gold Albanese & Barletti LLC, in Morristown, New Jersey passed away on January 19 at the age of 68.
Bob was highly regarded as an aggressive proactive litigator with a diverse caseload including personal injury, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents and criminal law. He had the unique ability to represent both plaintiff and defendants and was known for working tirelessly on their behalf. Bob genuinely loved being in the courtroom and rarely lost a case. He was also a municipal court judge in four counties for twelve years and served as a New Jersey Discovery Master.
Bob received his BA magna cum laude from Fordham University and his JD from Rutgers University. He has received numerous recognitions and awards in his forty-four-year career and earned an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale -Hubbell . He is recognized and distinguished in the Top Attorneys of North America 2022-2023 edition by the Who’s Who Directories. Bob was frequently named a “Top Lawyer” of “Super Lawyer” by New Jersey publications.
Despite his tough aggressive demeanor when representing countless individuals and businesses, true to his name, Bob also had a heart of Gold. His generosity, dry wit and sense of humor is legendary. Clients became friends and friends became clients. Bob was the first phone call many people made when needing help of any kind.
Bob’s indomitable attitude allowed him to triumph over many medical conditions throughout his life but it never prevented him from giving his clients 100%. He was grateful to have a kidney transplant through Hackensack Memorial Hospital in 2022 and ardently supports their work.
In his rare free time, Bob brought his same determination and competitive spirit to the golf course and fulfilled his dream of playing Pebble Beach and throughout the Emerald Isle.
Bob is survived by his longtime partner in both law and life, Judy Albanese, his son Aaron Gold; daughter Amanda Gold , brother James Gold and four grandchildren.
Services will be private but those that wish are invited to raise a glass in his honor.
